That's a full date for the price of two drinks downtown. Oceanfront at Tower23 Hotel, so the views do the heavy lifting.
Cannonball Restaurant & Bar
Happy hour Tue–Fri 4–6pm — Rooftop sushi specials with ocean views from every table. This is PB's most underrated date spot. The sunset from up here is genuinely incredible and the sushi happy hour prices make it approachable.
The Grass Skirt
Open nightly from 5pm — $30 domestic beer buckets, $15 champagne bottles, $5 mimosas. The tiki bar hidden behind Good Time Poke. Polynesian decor, creative cocktails, and a vibe that feels like you're somewhere way more exotic than Garnet Ave. $15 champagne bottles are a steal for a date night opener.
Flamingo Deck PB
Happy hour daily 3–6pm — $5 draft beer, $8 wine & cocktails, $15 artisan pizzas. Rooftop bar with wood-fired pizza and sunset views over Mission Beach. The $15 truffle mushroom pizza during happy hour is chef's kiss.

Duck Dive
Happy hour Mon–Fri 3–6pm — $3.50 domestic drafts, $5 craft cocktails, $6 craft drafts, $6.50 duck fat fries, $8.50 chicken tenders. One of PB's best all-around happy hours. The food deals are legit (not just sad nachos), the space is big enough for groups, and the surf-bar vibe keeps everyone happy. Plus trivia on Thursdays at 8pm if your crew is competitive.
Pacific Beach AleHouse
Happy hour Mon–Fri 2–5pm — $5 draft beers & well cocktails, half-price bottles of wine, $10 flatbreads, $15 cheeseburger + draft beer combo. Two stories, a rooftop skydeck with ocean views, and trivia on Wednesdays at 7pm. The $15 burger-and-beer combo is basically why this place exists.
Dirty Birds Pacific Beach

Baja Beach Cafe

Happy hour daily 11am–6pm — $3 wells, domestic beers from $2.50. Cash only, no frills, and consistently one of the best-kept secrets in PB. Rocky's has been doing this for decades and nothing has changed. That's the whole point. $2.50 beers in 2026 is genuinely remarkable.
The Coaster Saloon
Happy hour daily 9am–2pm — $3 beers, $4 wells. Yes, happy hour starts at 9am. This is a beachside dive bar that knows exactly what it is. Stiff pours, no pretense, open every day. If you're up early after a surf session, this is the spot.
The Beachcomber PB
Happy hour daily 11am–5pm — $4 domestics, $5 wells. Six hours of cheap drinks with a beachfront patio and live music on weekends. Probably the best value-to-vibes ratio in PB.
West End
Happy hour daily 11am–6pm — $2 off beer, $7 wells, $8 house wine, $10 cocktails. Plus $8 fries, $12 appetizers, $18 ahi tuna poke. A North PB staple since the 70s with pool tables and a real local crowd. The food deals during happy hour are unusually good for a dive bar.
Best Patio & Oceanview
You're in Pacific Beach. You should be able to see the ocean while you drink. These spots deliver.
Waterbar
Happy hour daily — $2 off all draft beers, $7 bloody marys, $6 sangria. Weekend specials include $6 mimosas and $23 champagne bottles. Literally on the sand. This is as close to the ocean as you can get with a drink in your hand. The weekend champagne bottle deal is a PB brunch staple.
World Famous
